I was crawling out -- the wayside saw You found my body underneath the snow And pulled me by my hands to get me out There's nothing left to hold except my mouth Everybody wants some Everybody cares If you wanna find one Leave me where I lay Leave me where I lay I lay

... And can you hear me now? Are you listening? I can't sing you away And where have you been? When my heart's in the car And it's driving away I remember your face I remember your face

Why? You want my skin Wrap it around Like what you've found? Isn't this what you wanted? Isn't this what you said? Everything is your puppet Hide in you I can't watch - holding while you're sinking away I'll find you - sleeping in the stones of your grave Here Here, I'll find your face Cut it around One quiet mouth Isn't this what you wanted? Isn't this what you said? Everything is your puppet Hide in you I can't watch - holding while you're sinking away I'll find you - sleeping in the stones of your grave Pull me out - I don't wanna hide here no more Call my name - even while you're sinking away Here

Did I hear you laughing? Sitting on the couch next to me Asking what I've been up to I must be dreaming of the time We were slowly walking Through an empty canyon In that lonely place I saw Your name slowly echoing I just hear what I see Creeping in my body Like a frozen lake I fall Crawl across it breaking

about

first release as "wolves asleep" -- both a lyrical reference and a mental image that has frequently come up in my songwriting over the years. These songs are an exploration of bringing this project/journey to a deeper, more meditative place -- also a release and exercise of letting go of the past, which explains the scary lyrical themes of death/murder.
The new moniker is intended to create a space apart from my "self" for this project -- one that I hope you can enjoy listening to as much as I do to make it.

as always, listen loudly and freely
